Trash to Treasure - Baking Pans to Holiday Decor
09 September
Baking pans are a great craft supply.
They are ALWAYS in stock at thrift stores and usually cheap too!
My inspiration for both of these pan projects was from Laurel at Chipping with Charm. I used some bundt pans and some round cake pans to make some fun fall decor!
I have had these in my random junk pile in the garage, and decided it was time to do something with them!
No... I didn't bake a cake, although a cake would be really tasty right now! 😄
Instead, my plan was to turn these into some fun fall and Halloween decor!

The bundt pans first got a coat of red spray paint. The round cake pans were painted black but I forgot to take a picture of that.
Then everything got a few coats of harvest orange craft paint.

This is what I made with the bundt pans. I'm sure you've seen these on Pinterest. I sanded the high spots on the pans and cut some oak leaves from vintage book pages.
The book page leaves were paired with a silk flower leaf and clamped onto some jute twine with a clothes pin that I stamped with the word "Fall".
I also added some small springs from a mattress I found at the dump. My dad and I took part of the mattress apart for the large bedsprings and these little ones were an added bonus.
I love how these turned out! One would be super cute hanging on the front door!
Now for the cake pans, I needed some more goodies.
I had all these in my rusty parts and pieces stash!
With these, I created some junk Jack-O-Lanterns!! This one got a paint can opener mouth, cast iron star and rusty washer eyes, and a little metal counter sample nose!
They were so fun to make, no real rules and I finally got to use some of my rusty junk!!
This one has a flower-shaped drawer pull and "Lucky" bottle cap eyes, and some weird random things for his nose and mouth.
