Recycled Little Golden Book Christmas Card Keeper

As a lover of all things vintage I am often amazed at the things that people have saved. Everything from food packaging to newspapers to used cards... and as a vintage lover, I get almost giddy about these things sometimes... but I have a confession to make...
...I throw stuff away... 😓
And I often think to myself... if I could just put this away somewhere then some day it will be vintage and people will probably think it's really cool looking even though it looks very ordinary right now.
And since I have this habit I have not saved any Christmas cards that were sent to me... except for last year's cards... they were spared for some reason and when I was unpacking my Christmas decor I found them so I decided it's high time I started saving a few things!
So, today I'm sharing a fun little Christmas card album I made to keep them in!
I already had this cute Christmas Little Golden Book but they are super easy to find in thrift stores or even new!
Remove the pages and then trim the covers so they look nice.
I didn't like the back of the book so I covered it with a leftover piece of wrapping paper using Mod Podge.
Then I punched holes in the sides of the covers with my Crop-A-Dile punch. I love this punch because it will put a hole through anything... thick cardboard like this, fabric, metal, etc!
Then I used three book rings to make my book.
I tied scraps of different ribbons around the rings to dress them up a bit.
And slid them through the holes in the book covers.
At this point it looks like this!
I added some red pom-pom trim to the bottom of the front cover for a playful touch that goes well with the playfulness of the Little Golden Book itself.
And then I added a tag and used stickers to spell out "X-mas Cards" and attached it with a red candy cane striped paper clip!
And here is my finished book!
Right now I only have four cards in it... so mom, I'm gonna need you to send me a Christmas card... it may be the only one I get!! 😂
I think I need to write the year and who the card is from on the back of each one so someday... when they are vintage... other people can be all giddy when they find them!!
I will get this out each year when I decorate for Christmas and put it on the coffee table, it will be fun to look through and reminisce!
Here is a list of supplies I used to create this book for your convenience:

I love it!! As you may already know-----I'm a saver! LOL! I have LOTS of old cards i could add to a book like this. And you're right, if people never save anything, then there'll be no fun discoveries years from now. I have things to discover in every nook and cranny! You'll discover that someday! LOL!

Yes, yes I know... I'm a little nervous about that discovery process I'll get to experience someday. Between you and dad and the garage they may find me curled up in the fetal position!!
