7 Days of Thrift Shop Flips - Day 3
14 August
Are you ready for day 3 of 7 days of thrift shop flips in honor of National Thrift Shop Day?!
I was on the fence about the little mermaids from day 2 but I really love today's project!
For today's project, I made this colorful tiered stand.
Here is what I started with.
Two old Ovenex baking pans, a candlestick, and four large wooden balls.
I love the designs on these pans! The larger one was very badly burned. I tried oven cleaner and it did clean it up a lot but still not completely. That's when I decided to paint them.
I used some pretty ice cream colors and painted everything a different color.
Pink for the balls...
Aqua for the large pan...
Yellow for the smaller pan.
I thought the candlestick was a little bit too long so I used my handsaw to remove the part where the candle would have gone. Then it was painted pink.
Once things had dried I drilled holes through the pans to attach everything together.
I used E6000 glue and screws to attach the balls to the large pan for feet.
Then I attached the candlestick, also with glue and screws.
And finally added the small pan in the same manner.
As you can see, this is adorable for a birthday party!!
I lined the pans with parchment paper since I was placing food inside.
And added my favorite pink sugar cookies and mini cupcakes... with sprinkles... everything is better with sprinkles! 😊
I have had this little bottle of vintage sprinkles for several years. I love it, it is so cute and went so well with everything for this photo shoot too!
You could use a tiered stand like this for so many things though... coffee cups in the bottom tray and Keurig cups in the top... craft supplies... soaps in the top and hand towels in the bottom... etc.
What would you use it for?
And now my mouth is watering for one (or two!) of those little cupcakes!!
If you missed day 1 and 2 you can check them out here:

The colors you chose are great!
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever! You took repurposed things to a whole new level!
ReplyDeleteThe designs on these pans was a perfect plus! The paint brings out the design, I think. I love your tiered serving piece. Can I have a cookie? My wife prefers cupcakes, so can she have one of those? This is a nice piece, and I would be proud of myself if I were you! Can't wait until tomorrow! That is a gorgeous design on what appears to be a wooden chair back.
ReplyDeleteAww, these are so cute. Love those pastel colors & you got me wanting one of those cupcakes too! Love the patterns on those vintage pans.
ReplyDeleteThanks Florence! The pans are so cool!
