DIY Scrap Wood Pumpkins
05 September
You can literally make pumpkins out of almost anything.
Just paint it orange and slap a stem on it and you have a pumpkin! 😂
I love trying to come up with different uses for things and I especially love reusing what I have so when I was left with a few chunks of 4x4 post pieces after a recent project, I decided to reuse them in true trash-to-treasure style and I made them into cute chunky pumpkins!

Supplies Needed to Make Your Own:
- 4x4 Wood Scraps
- Orange paint (I used orange spray paint but you could use craft paint too)
- White craft paint
- Stencils
- Foraged twigs
- Silk plant leaves
- Jute twine
- Various trims of your choosing
- Drill and drill bit large enough to accommodate the twig piece (I used a 3/4" spade bit)
I wanted mine to be boho, so I used some stencils on two of them.
Add some leaves and twine. I found some leaves that would work in my supply of silk flowers but you could also use real leaves that have fallen from the trees.
TIP: thrift stores and dollar stores are great sources of cheap silk flowers!
To attach the leaves to the stems I wrapped the twine around the stems capturing the leaves underneath.
Put some hot glue down into the hole and stick the stem in!
For two of the pumpkins, I just dry-brushed them with white paint.
