Upcycled Picture Frame Wreath
09 May
Guess what today is?!
It's Thrifty Chicks Challenge day!
If you are new to the Thrifty Chicks challenges, we are a group of blogging friends and we get together (virtually) once a month for an upcycling project challenge. Each month has a theme, this month our challenge is wreaths made with unique/upcycled materials.
And this month we have a new Thrifty Chicks member, welcome Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home! This is her first month linking up her Thrifty Chicks project with us!
For my wreath, I decided to upcycle an old picture frame!
I am still in "operation garage cleanout" mode so this picture frame came from a bin full ofjunk treasures stored in my garage!
Before I even planned out this project I found this cute chipboard "hello" sign at Hobby Lobby on sale for only $2.49. I got one not knowing what I would do with it.

And I had purchased a bunch of faux succulent plants at Michael's for a different project. I robbed some of these for my frame wreath 😉
I painted the picture frame black and then began adding the succulents.
I just used my hot glue gun to attach them!
I painted the hello sign pink and then attached that at an angle, also with hot glue.
A piece of jute twine for a hanger and we are all set!
This was such a simple project but I really love the end result!
I distressed the frame a little bit for some added interest.
