Vintage Dining Table Makeover
07 July
Hello! A few weeks ago I shared a cute little vintage dining table I found on Craigslist for $40 with my newsletter subscribers (If you aren't on my mailing list you can sign up HERE so you won't miss out on these behind the scenes peeks!)
Today I'm sharing the finished makeover!
I didn't do anything extra special to it, just gave it a fresh new paint job with Olympic One Arctic Cotton.
Here is what it looked like before... well, I had already started sanding in this picture. I almost forgot to take a before picture! 😲
Once it was sanded down I used a small roller for the flat surfaces and a brush for the rounded areas and nooks and crannies.
The Craigslist ad said it had a leaf but I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that it folds up and stores right in the table! How convenient, no trying to find a place to store the leaf!
It did have a couple of issues, a couple of chips taken out of one edge and it was missing the little floor protectors that went on the bottom of each foot. There were some bolts hanging down about a quarter of an inch on the bottom, center so the table was wobbly and the bolts would have scratched up the floor.
Rather than buy new floor protectors I just used some scrap wood I had and made some! They raised the table up just enough so that the bolts weren't causing issues.
My old table was just a little larger than I wanted and I like the round shape of this one.
I had planned a makeover of my dining room at the same time as my living room makeover so let's consider this part one!
I am planning to recover the chairs and I have a fun pendant light planned to make (I hope it works)!

I found my fiddle leaf fig at Walmart!
The "Gather" sign is from Gifted Occasion. I won a $100 gift certificate for their store several months ago. The word is actually cut from wood and glued to the white piece of wood giving it a 3D look.
The quote on my letterboard is something I saw on Pinterest and it is SO me! I wander to the fridge in the middle of the night for snacks often!
What do you think? I can't wait to recover those chairs and see if my vision for a pendant light will work out!
