Fall Living Room Tour
09 October
I got a new couch! OMG, it's the softest, most comfy couch I've ever seen, sat on, or owned!
I did love my vintage couches but they were a little too NOT neutral... and I have decorating A.D.D.... so... squirrel!
I love to change things up in my house. I love painting walls, changing out pillows, and adding accessories. I was finding it really limiting having an orange and brown sofa and loveseat so I found a beautiful, neutral colored sofa so that I can change the surrounding decor to my heart's content!
I spent almost the whole weekend cleaning and rearranging my living room around my new sofa. What is it about getting new furniture that makes you want to #cleanallthethings?!
I added in a few fall decorations too so today I'm sharing my fall living room tour!
Here is a shot of the living room from the hall.
I moved my vintage brass and glass etagere next to the front door and then added my vintage camera collection and the Naked Button Globe that I made for one of our Thrifty Chicks challenges!
I added some fall leaves and pumpkins to one of the drawers for fun.
Here is the view toward the door, I still love my new front door!
I added a wallpapered accent wall a few months ago. It's the Ladwig Scandinavian Block Tulip design. I liked it but it just wasn't jiving with the old couch and loveseat, I LOVE it now!
The Two-Tone Campaign Dresser fits in so much better now too! The pouf is from Wayfair!
Since the wallpaper is kind of busy this wall doesn't need much. I hung three antique picture frames above the TV, they kind of add a little architectural detail.
One of the first things I did in this room was to create the Faux Brick Wall and then gave it a German Schmear technique.
The brass 3-head floor lamp is a Target find!
On the coffee table, I have a little box that holds remotes, a fall scented candle, and a cute acorn nut bowl!
This Buddha's hand is one of my favorite things. My daughter bought it at an antique show and I wanted it as soon as I saw it! I'm just borrowing it for a while. I put one of the DIY Faux Concrete Hearts I made in it.
I rescued this plant from a dark room at work and it is doing so great now, it's grown to be about 3 times the size it was!
I decided to try floating the couch out a couple of feet from the bookcase. I really like how it looks and it feels very cozy! I shared How to Create Stylish Built-ins from Simple Inexpensive Bookcases and I'm still loving the look.
The twinkle lights in the jars are HERE, they are battery operated and have remotes!
I put two of the Cute Paper Pumpkins I made last year on the bookcase.
The two pieces of 1970's Art that I made over are hanging on the wall next to the big bay window.
The other wall has my faux fireplace! My boyfriend got me the round Target mirror for my birthday!
The square decorative panel hanging on the top above the trunk is from Hobby Lobby, the antique ceiling tile below that is from Decor Steals.
I made the tall Trash-to-Treasure Candlestick. I added some old amber colored bottles for fall.
I added a fall arrangement to my belly basket.
I painted the girl bust with chalkboard paint and drew a necklace for her with chalk!
