Dollhouse Pallet Wood Window Valance
26 February
I've been working on the kitchen in my dollhouse lately!
I've been creating some farmhouse details like a pallet window valance, a rustic bar, and some Rae Dunn inspired canisters... want to see?!
Today I'm sharing the adorable pallet window valance I created!

I made valances like this for my last "real" house and I knew I could create the same look for my dollhouse!
I used these skinny sticks which are a lot like regular popsicle sticks except they are skinnier and they have square ends instead of rounded.
To make the valances, measure the width of the windows and add about 1/2". Cut three craft sticks to that measurement. Lay the three sticks together and cut two short pieces to use as the end brackets. Glue them on each end about 1/4" in from the end, I used E6000 glue.
Stain the valance in the shade you want. I used watered down Burnt Umber Craft Paint.
Cut a piece of lace to the inside width of your valance. If you are not using gathered lace like this then you'll need to gather it yourself before gluing it on.
Once it has dried attach it to the wall with Double-sided Adhesive Tape. I just cut thin strips for the edges of the side pieces.
There you have it, easy-peasy and adorable pallet wood window valances for your dollhouse!
Stay tuned cause I've got lots more details to share!
