Trash to Treasure Paint Can Lid Flower

The new workshop that I had built at the end of my very long single car garage is coming along nicely!
I've just got a little bit more stuff that is still sitting outside to get put away. But now I think there might be a mouse in the stuff that is still out there (we saw one out there one day) so I'll have to open every box and make sure there isn't anyone living in there!
I shared the Upcycled Filing Cabinet Wood Storage that I made the other day and today I'm sharing my paint storage cabinet. What's so special about a paint storage cabinet you ask? Well... it's vintage for one thing!! 😉 And I gave it a special little decoration!
The magnet just magnetizes itself to the lid (magnetizes... is that even a thing?! 😂)
Then I just stuck them onto the cabinet. The magnets attach them to the cabinet... you know magnetization and all!!
I used a couple of paint cans for storing my paintbrushes and stir sticks on top of the cabinet. I have some paint can openers hanging on the side of the cabinet.

I used this in my booth at the antique mall when I had it and it was one of the things I didn't sell when I closed down my booth. I knew it would make a great garage (or workshop) storage cabinet!
I have been saving paint can lids for quite some time for this.
These are from the smaller quart size cans.
Then I bought a package of large magnets at Walmart.
The magnet just magnetizes itself to the lid (magnetizes... is that even a thing?! 😂)
I made a leaf with a scrap of corrugated metal. I used tin snips to cut it into a leaf shape and then spray painted it green.
Then I just stuck them onto the cabinet. The magnets attach them to the cabinet... you know magnetization and all!!
The stem is a scrap of copper wire that the electrician left behind.
I used a couple of paint cans for storing my paintbrushes and stir sticks on top of the cabinet. I have some paint can openers hanging on the side of the cabinet.
I think it's a happy little decoration in what can be a very utilitarian space, what do you think?
