Boho Wall Hanging Basket Arrangement
Baskets are a staple in boho home decor so I'm always looking at the baskets I see at thrift stores and garage sales to see if anything catches my eye.
I recently went to an estate sale and found a wall hanging basket that was interesting so I picked it up.
I'm sharing how I upcycled the basket I found for this month's Do-It-Over-Designer's challenge. This challenge is where I get together virtually with some of my blogging buddies and we each take something old or unused and "do it over" into something new. It can be anything from fabric, old dishes and decor, to dressers and hutches. These items can be found in closets, barns, garage sales, and thrift stores, you name it!

So, let me show you how I made it and at the end of my post you'll be able to click the links to each of the other ladies' projects to see what they've made.
Here is what this basket looked like when I found it.
So first, I cleaned the basket out to begin this project.
I didn't really like the color of this basket so I decided to stain it darker. I used black craft paint and a really wet sponge brush to get a stain-like consistency. If you like the look of lighter baskets, check out this project where I bleached a basket: DIY Bleached Basket Pendant Light.
There, that's better!!
I'm sure someone who is an expert at floral arranging could do a better job but I like how it turned out 😊
You made a great choice by darkening the pouch. I can imagine this as an arrow holder for a fairy archer! Enjoying reading the posts from our hop.

That's a cute idea! When I get tired of the flowers, I may try that!
DeleteExcellent makeover! I love the boho vibe and that green woven trim was the perfect addition to complete the look.
ReplyDeleteThank you Allyson!
DeleteVery pretty! I like that you wiped the dark color back a bit on the basket. It contains a fun collection of different elements other than just flowers and your arrangement is great! Love the fringe, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI like the basket much better stained black. For someone who claims not to be an expert at floral arranging it looks pretty darn good to me. I love the boho touches too! Pinned 🙂
ReplyDeleteThank you! I just struggle with floral arranging a little bit. It takes me a lot longer than some I think and I'm never really sure if it looks good or not!
