DIY Fireplace Makeover with Peel and Stick Tiles
I'm so excited to share today's makeover post with you!
This is another fixer-upper house makeover and it is happening in the living room.
It's actually a pretty small project... BUT... it makes such a big impact in the room!

I am using peel and stick vinyl tile stickers from Mi Alma to transform our fireplace.
Here is what our fireplace looked like when we bought the house.
It's pretty nice, it's one of the reasons I love the house... but it was just a little too boring for me.
I made a video showing the process of installing these on our fireplace.
As you can see from the video, these were super easy to install!
I cleaned the tiles really well before I started and then just peeled the backing off each tile and laid it over the top of the existing tiles smoothing out any air bubbles with my fingers.
I chose THESE black and white tiles in 6" x 6" to match the existing fireplace tiles. They come in many sizes from 2" x 2" to 12" x 12".
Let's take a look at the before shots again and some in-between shots... brace yourself... it always gets worse before it gets better 😬
Here's a before, during, and after collage from when we put the mantel up...
And here is the after-after!!
I hope you've enjoyed this post and video! Definitely check out Mi Alma's Etsy shop and regular website, they've got so many beautiful tile options and so many great inspiration photos to get your creative juices going!

ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy!
DeleteIs it fire safety rated?
ReplyDeleteThey are advertised as heat resistant. We do not have a fire without the glass doors being closed so we will not have an issue with this worry. If you had a fireplace where there is the risk that embers may escape, then I would check with the company directly with your question :)
