I like the idea of styling your mantel seasonally. My question for you is how do you store your decor pieces while not in use...do you group them by color, substance, season, or something else? I am stuck on how to store my decor pieces as there is an overlap in seasonal suitability and I don't want to forget that I have these pieces when it comes time to create a pretty display. Help!!
Well, everything I used was from just shopping my house... the green books were up in my craft room, the lady bust, cloche with bees, brass geese, and vintage picture were from other rooms in my house. The mirror and wood vase are almost always on the mantel. I do have another mirror that I sometimes use so I store the mirrors under the couch when I'm not using those. Sometimes I go through my boxes of holiday decor and grab things to use from there (like my Easter decor is a good place to look for spring mantel decor). This is a really good question though and I'm definitely going to give this some more thought but if you have the space I would try to store things so you can always see them. Perhaps a basement where you could set up a shelving unit, then you could go shop your shelves! Stay tuned and I'll do some thinking and write a blog post about this!!
